This special edition was created in collaboration with Xbox and Rare Ltd. to celebrate four decades of gaming characters and iconic worlds. The design uses signature blue and gold shades, complemented by symbolic patterns, silhouettes inspired by famous games, and hidden details. The collector's edition is completed with a gold metal tactile D-pad made of zinc alloy, which enhances response when pressed. With a total of 16 buttons, the design combines elements of classic and modern gaming for a stable grip.
Precise control with Hall effect
The sticks and impulse triggers use advanced magnetic sensors with the Hall effect. This contactless technology effectively prevents mechanical wear and tear and eliminates unwanted stick drift for long-term precise aiming. Gamers can take advantage of the haptic feedback in the impulse triggers directly when playing on consoles.
Customisation options in the software
The accompanying 8BitDo Ultimate X software is used for detailed configuration of the controller's individual elements. Users can change the mapping of all buttons, adjust the sensitivity of the analogue sticks, set the trigger travel and vibration intensity, and update the firmware. The controller saves settings to three separate user profiles, which can be switched by pressing a dedicated hardware button directly during gameplay without interrupting the running game.
Integrated charging station
The gamepad starts charging automatically when placed in the dock, with a full charge taking approximately 4 hours. When removed from the dock, it establishes a wireless connection with the gaming device and automatically reconnects to the last paired system.
