Simply connect the console to a compatible TV and perceive every detail with breathtaking picture quality, supported by HDR, VRR, and a frame rate of up to 120 frames per second on supported TVs. 4K resolution, VRR, and HDR are available in games that support this technology, and for 4K output, the frame rate is limited to 60 frames per second. To ensure everything runs without overheating, the dock is equipped with a fan that keeps the system at an optimal temperature and helps to stabilise performance even during long gaming sessions. Connecting to a TV is also simple; compatible TVs will automatically turn on when they detect the system being powered on in the dock, and thanks to Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) support, the TV will automatically switch to the correct input. With the Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM) feature, you can even have your TV switch to game mode without any unnecessary delay.
The Nintendo Switch 2 gaming console has a built-in microphone
With the Nintendo Switch 2, you can now easily stay in touch with your friends, anytime and anywhere, thanks to the new GameChat feature. Whether you're playing on the TV, in tabletop mode, or handheld, voice chat is available right on your system. Thanks to a built-in microphone that uses advanced noise-cancelling technology, you'll always be heard clearly, even in busy or quiet environments. In addition, you can easily start or join a GameChat during a game by pressing the new C button on the right Joy-Con 2 controller and control elements like muting or leaving the chat. Up to four people can share their screens during a single GameChat session. If you wish, you can also connect a camera for video chat, either through the built-in Nintendo Switch 2 camera or a compatible USB-C camera. And to easily check compatibility, simply use the Test USB Camera function in the system settings.
GameChat Open Access Period - until 31 March 2026, GameChat can be used without a Nintendo Switch Online membership. After this date, a Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required to use GameChat.
Compatible SD cards
The Nintendo Switch 2 introduces a new way to expand your storage thanks to advanced microSD Express cards. This new memory card standard, sold separately, ensures much faster data access and thus smoother and more efficient game performance. By reading and writing data faster, microSD Express allows users to comfortably store more games, applications, and other files without any slowdown in performance. It is important to remember that the Nintendo Switch 2 is only compatible with microSD Express cards. If you used microSD cards in a previous Nintendo Switch model, these cards will not work with the Nintendo Switch 2, as they do not conform to the new standard.
