The AXAGON CLR-M2L10 aluminium heatsink is a passive solution designed to maintain the optimum operating temperature of high-performance M.2 SSDs, particularly NVMe drives. Its primary function is to prevent a drop in performance caused by overheating. Under heavy load, the memory chips heat up, leading to an automatic reduction in the drive’s speed. This passive M.2 heatsink, with its sophisticated fin design, actively increases the surface area for heat dissipation and helps maintain stable performance. By consistently reducing the SSD’s temperature, it extends the lifespan of its sensitive components and maintains consistent data transfer speeds.

Radiator design
The cooler’s body is made of aluminium, which has excellent thermal conductivity. The substantial finning across the entire upper surface is not merely a design feature, but a functional mechanism for increasing the overall cooling surface area. In this way, the passive design transfers heat more efficiently to the surrounding air without the need for an active fan, resulting in completely silent operation. During intensive data processing, this solution can reduce the operating temperature of the M.2 drive by up to 25 °C, thereby maintaining stable performance even under prolonged load.
Wide compatibility and easy installation
The heatsink is designed for standard M.2 drives and supports both SATA (AHCI) and the more modern NVMe (PCI-Express) interfaces. The pack contains two thermal pads; using them in combination ensures optimal contact with the surface of both single-sided and double-sided SSDs. This results in efficient heat transfer from the memory chips to the aluminium body of the cooler. Installation is straightforward and can be carried out on M.2 slots on motherboards as well as on standalone PCI-Express adaptors. All necessary mounting hardware is included.
