The AXAGON CLR-M2L6 passive aluminium heatsink effectively cools 22 × 80 millimetre M.2 SSDs, including high-speed NVMe and standard SATA models. Its finned aluminium design increases the active surface area for heat dissipation and reduces the drive’s operating temperature by up to 20 °C. In this way, it prevents performance throttling under heavy load whilst also minimising speed drops during intensive use. The included thermal pads allow installation on both single-sided and double-sided M.2 drives.

Design of an aluminium heat sink
The aluminium body of the heat sink features fins that significantly increase the total surface area, enabling more efficient heat dissipation into the surrounding environment. This principle of passive cooling maintains stable drive performance without overheating and minimises performance drops caused by thermal throttling, where the drive automatically reduces its speed to protect itself from damage. Maintaining a lower operating temperature therefore directly contributes to a longer SSD lifespan.
Easy installation and compatibility
The cooler is easy to install thanks to the comprehensive set of mounting materials included in the pack. The pack contains two thermal pads, which can be combined for use with both single-sided and double-sided M.2 drives. Its compact dimensions and low profile, with a height of 6 millimetres, allow the heatsink to be used even in systems with limited space, such as on motherboards beneath a graphics card or in external M.2 adaptors.
