The EXTOL INDUSTRIAL step drill bit is designed for smoothly drilling holes in metal and plastic. Thanks to its conical shape, it creates holes with a diameter of 3 to 12 mm without deforming the sheet metal. It is made of HSS-Co high-speed steel, which is also suitable for very hard alloys and stainless steel up to 4 mm thick. The TiAlN surface coating increases the tool's durability and lifespan. It is clamped into a drill using a 6 mm diameter cylindrical shank.

Durable materials and precise work
The core of the drill bit is HSS-Co high-speed steel with a 5% cobalt content, which gives it high hardness and thermal resistance. This allows it to handle drilling into very hard alloys and stainless steel sheets. The titanium aluminium nitride (TiAlN) surface coating further increases its resistance to wear. For optimal results and tool life, it is recommended to maintain speeds between 500–1200rpm for standard steel and 250–700rpm for stainless steel. The drill bit can be repeatedly sharpened if necessary.
