Wilckens Garage concrete floor paint, Garagen Boden Beschichtung 2,5 l, grey WI.11676600080
The Wilkens Garagen Boden Beschichtung 2.5L special concrete garage floor paint in grey (WI.11676600080) is a water-based, low-solvent and low-odour paint for both interior and exterior use. The paint is resistant to tyres, abrasion, oils, weathering, and water. It is suitable for all mineral substrates, including concrete, screed, fibre cement boards, and old roof tiles. The cured paint is resistant to the migration of plasticisers from car tyres, which prevents localised flaking. The paint has good resistance to alkalis, acids, salts, engine oil, brake fluid, diesel, and heating oil. It is also resistant to petrol for short periods. The paint is viscoplastic, with good resistance to UV radiation and weathering. All shades of the product can be mixed together, but it cannot be combined with other products.

Use
The paint is used to seal garage floors and normally stressed mineral surfaces such as warehouses, industrial halls, workshops, balconies, or cellars. Its resistance to abrasion, tyres, and chemicals also makes it suitable for old fibre cement roof tiles and exterior surfaces. The substrate must be clean, dry, sound, and free from rising damp. The paint can be applied with a brush or roller, with a recommended coverage of 6–7m²/L per coat.
Application process
The substrate must be clean, dry, sound, and absorbent. Mechanically remove old joints and loose layers. Concrete and screed must be cured for at least 1 month. Roughen smooth surfaces and, for exteriors, remove moss and algae with a high-pressure cleaner. Check the adhesion of old coats, remove any loose layers, and repair any defects. For problematic substrates or renovations, apply 1 coat of Wilckens 2C two-component primer to promote adhesion. Apply the paint evenly in thin layers with a brush or roller; 2–3 coats are recommended for concrete and screed, and 1–2 coats for old paintwork. When using multiple containers, ensure the same batch. At a temperature of 20°C and 65% relative humidity, the paint is dust-dry after 2 hours, touch-dry after 6 hours, walkable after 24 hours, and can be fully loaded after 6 days. Lower temperatures and higher humidity will extend the drying time. Clean tools with soap and water immediately after use. Do not apply the paint at temperatures below +8°C or on hot surfaces exposed to direct sunlight.
