The Bosch D-Tect 120 detector reliably detects all common objects. It can detect both magnetic and non-magnetic metals, live wires, dead wires, water-filled plastic pipes, and wooden reinforcement structures. The pinpoint display facilitates detection in hard-to-reach places, while the center-finding function allows for the display of the exact center position of an object at depths of up to 120mm. The detector features a simple user interface with 3 buttons that allow for adjustment according to different types of use. It uses audible and visual signals to indicate the detection of objects in the wall. It can be powered by a 12V Li-Ion rechargeable battery or alkaline batteries. The Bosch D-Tect 120 detector can be used for a variety of construction activities.

Measurement results may be affected by certain environmental conditions. These include, for example, the proximity of devices that generate strong electric, magnetic, or electromagnetic fields, humidity, building materials containing metal, insulation materials with aluminium foil, and conductive wallpaper or tiles. Under certain conditions (e.g., behind metal surfaces or surfaces with a high water content) live wires may not be reliably detected. The signal strength of live wires depends on the position of the cables. Therefore, use additional measurements in the immediate vicinity or using other sources of information to verify the presence of live wires. Static electricity can cause wires to not be displayed or to be displayed inaccurately (e.g., over a larger area). For better display, place your free hand next to the measuring device with your palm against the wall to eliminate static electricity.
