A network switch is a functional network unit that connects individual devices and other network elements. It is suitable for controlling network traffic. The D-LINK DGS-1250-52X is supposed to be installed in a rack. This type impresses with a switching capacity of 176 Gb/s. The Switch has 48 × RJ-45 ports that provide connection with network elements. 4 SFP connectors serve to transport data via optical fibers. 10/100Base-T technology enables data transfer with a speed of up to 100 Mbit/s. 10/100/1000Base-T technology enables data transfer with a speed of up to 1000 Mbit/s. It works with Dual Personality ports, remarkable for incorporating both the RJ-45 and SFP connector ; however, only one of them can be used at a time. The switch dimensions are 440 × 210 × 44mm. QoS aka Quality of Service technology makes sure the switch doesn't get overloaded, and it also lets you set up end station priority. Integrated LAN ports support a bandwidth speed of up to 1 Gbit. The switch weighs 3010g.
