The Edimax ES-5500G v3 is a small 8-port switch that offers its users high levels of performance and store-and-forward functionality to meet the requirements of home or mid-sized office use. With it, you can easily expand your local Gigabit network. You'll appreciate its ease of use and installation so that you can set it up without any configuration - just connect a computer, server or game console with a cable.

It will not slow you down
As a result of its high speed, you will enjoy high flexibility and throughput. The time spent transferring large files will be much shorter, and there is also support for Jumbo Frame 9K, a feature that greatly improves network usage whilst transferring large volumes of data. The ES-5500G v3 recognises the speed of the connected devices and adjusts the speed accordingly. This switch model can be powered in two ways, either by the power adapter or the supplied USB cable. The advantage of using a USB cable is that you do not need a power socket and you only need a free USB port on your computer.
Saves you money
Edimax appliances are very economical because they use a new generation of economy mode that saves up to 70% of energy. If the connected device is turned off or inactive, the switch automatically reduces power consumption. It also recognises the length of cables used to control the levels of power consumption. The result is that a shorter cable = less power consumption.
