Using the Philips AVENT breast pump

Disassemble the breast pump before using it for the first time and after each use, clean and disinfect all parts that come into contact with breast milk. Fully charge the device before first use or after a long period of inactivity. Wipe with a clean, damp cloth soaked in water and a mild cleaning agent.

Do not use antibacterial or abrasive cleaners to clean the breast pump as they can cause damage. Never immerse the motor or adapter in water or put it in the dishwasher, as this will irreparably damage the components. Be careful when removing the white valve and cleaning it. If it is damaged, the extractor will not work properly. To remove the white valve, gently pull the knurled tab on the side of the valve. Clean the white valve by gently rubbing it between your fingers in warm water with added dishwashing liquid. Do not insert objects into the white valve, it could be damaged.

Manual cleaning:
Step 1: Wash all components under lukewarm running water.
Step 2: Soak all parts for 5 minutes in warm water with a little dishwashing liquid.
Step 3: Clean all parts with a soft brush.
Step 4: Thoroughly rinse all parts under potable running water.
Step 5: Leave all components on a clean wipe or drip-dry in the air.

Cleaning in the dishwasher:
Step 1: Place all components in the top basket washer.
Step 2: Add the detergent or tablet to the dishwasher and start a running programme.
Step 3: Leave all components on a clean wipe or drip-dry in the air.

During disinfection with boiling water, do not allow the bottle and other parts to touch the side of the pot. Irreversible product deformation or damage could occur.

Insert size:
The Philips Avent Premium single or double breast pump includes a soft massage insert. It gently stimulates the nipple to get the milk flowing. The insert is made of flexible silicone, which fits up to 99.98% of women, nipple size up to 30 mm.

Assembling the breast pump:
Make sure that you have cleaned and disinfected all parts of the breast pump that come into contact with breast milk. If you have disinfected the pump parts by boiling, be careful, they can get really hot. To avoid burns, start assembling the extractor only when the disinfected parts have cooled down. Before touching the breast pump and breast parts, wash your hands thoroughly with soapy water to prevent contamination. If possible, do not touch the inside of the containers. Before use, check that the extractor components are not worn or damaged. Replace them if necessary.

Step 1: Wash your hands properly with soap and water.
Step 2: Insert the white valve into the body of the suction hood.
Step 3: Screw the body of the breast pump onto the bottle.4. Insert the liner into the body of the breastmilk pump and make sure that the edge fits over the body of the pump.
Step 4: Press the inner part of the insert into the funnel of the counter line (marked with an arrow).
Step 5: Insert the silicone diaphragm into the body of the breast pump. Press the silicone diaphragm down with your fingers so that it seals perfectly around the edge of the breast pump.
Step 6: A silicone tube and cap are attached to the silicone diaphragm. Push the cap in until it clicks firmly into place.
Step 7: Hoses connected to the motor unit.
Step 8: When the extractor is plugged in, you can use it without the cable. Press and hold the on/off button until the device turns on. The breast pump can also be used plugged into an electrical socket. If the battery is almost dead, insert the adapter into the power socket and connect the small plug at the other end to the motor unit.
Step 9: Now the breast pump is ready for use.

Before you get ready to pump, you can put a cover on the massage pad to keep the breastmilk pump clean.

Milk expressing instructions:
Always switch off the breast pump first to relieve the vacuum before removing the pump body from the breast. If you are unable to express any milk, do not continue pumping for more than five minutes at a time. Try sucking at a different time of day. If pumping becomes very uncomfortable or painful, stop using the pump and consult your doctor.

If you regularly pump more than 125 ml in a single use, you can buy and use a 260 ml Philips Avent Natural bottle to prevent overfilling or spillage. Note: The breast pump can be used without a cord if it is sufficiently charged, but you can also use it plugged into a socket.

Step 1: Wash your breasts thoroughly with soap and water and make sure that they are clean.
Step 2: Put the breast pump kit on. Make sure to fuck the cow in the middle.
Step 3: Press and hold the on/off button until the device switches on. The indicator light comes on to show that the device is in stimulation mode.
Step 4: The pump starts the stimulation mode and slowly increases the pressure to the stimulation intensity level used last time (in case of first use to level 5).
Step 5: The display will show the elapsed time.
Step 6: You can freely change the intensity of the sound using the increase and decrease buttons.
Step 7: After 90 seconds, the extractor starts the suction mode and slowly increases the vacuum to the suction intensity level used last time (in the case of first use to level 11).
Step 8: If you want to switch from suction mode to stimulation mode, you can switch modes using the mode selector button.
Step 9: To stop the extractor, shortpress the buttonswitches. To continue, press the switch button once more.
Step 10: Press and hold the switch to switch the device off.
