The wireless system of 7 sensors monitors wind speed and direction, precipitation, outdoor temperature, relative humidity, light intensity, UV index, and barometric pressure. Ultrasonic wind measurement and haptic rain detection work without traditional moving mechanical parts, which contributes to low maintenance and long-term outdoor operation. The Shelly Ecowitt Weather Station WS90 uses both Bluetooth 5 LE and Zigbee, allowing you to use the measured data for smart home automation—for example, to control irrigation based on rainfall, retract an awning in strong winds, control blinds according to sunlight intensity, or adjust air conditioning based on the outdoor temperature. In the Shelly Smart Control app, you get an overview of the measured values and can also set up alerts. A compatible control unit is required to use the station with the Shelly Smart Control app. The Ecowitt Weather Station WS90 is designed for year-round outdoor operation in temperatures from −40 to 60°C, has an IPX5 rating, and uses a built-in solar panel supplemented by backup battery power.
