SILVA Trail Runner Free 2 Hybrid
The SILVA Trail Runner Free 2 Hybrid is a running headlamp with a luminous flux of 500lm, following on from the Trail Runner Free model which won the ISPO Award 2020. SILVA Free technology channels the power inside the elastic headband. The hybrid battery case can be powered by a rechargeable battery or standard batteries. Intelligent Light technology combines a wide beam with a long-range spot beam, evenly illuminating the area in front of the user.

Key features of the SILVA Trail Runner Free 2 Hybrid Headlamp
- SILVA running headlamp with a maximum luminous flux of 500lm
- SILVA Free technology with power channelled inside the elastic headband
- Hybrid battery case for a rechargeable battery or 3× AAA batteries
- Option to move the power source into a backpack, waist pack or running vest using an extension cable
- Intelligent Light technology combines a wide beam and long-range spot beam
- Red safety light with a flashing function in the battery case
- Elastic headband with a silicone centre and padding under the lamp
- Water-resistant against splashing water from all angles according to IPX5
SILVA Free technology with no external cables
Power is transferred between the rear power source and the front lamp inside the elastic headband. This means there is no separate power cable running along its surface. Compared to the previous version, the headlamp has more effective cooling for the lamp and more comfortable padding on the front, underneath the light.
Hybrid power for both recharging and battery replacement
The battery case of the SILVA Trail Runner Free 2 Hybrid headlamp supports 2 power sources. You can use the rechargeable Hybrid battery with a capacity of 4.75Wh, which is included in the package, or 3 AAA cells. The power source is typically located at the back of the headband.
Move the power source into a backpack or under a jacket
Using an extension cable, the battery case can be stored in a backpack, waist pack or running vest. The headband with the lamp then weighs only 58g. When using it in sub-zero temperatures, you can move the battery under your jacket to protect it from the cold.

Luminous flux
This is given in Lumens (lm), and the higher the value, the more intensely the headlamp shines. Some LED headlamps offer multiple levels of light intensity, adjustable either in steps or continuously. However, a higher luminous flux shortens the battery life.Up to 100lm – a headlamp for home use (lighting in the cellar, loft, or when repairing a car).
100–400lm – outdoor use (night running, cycling, camping).
Over 400lm – extreme professions and sports (rescuers, mountaineers).
