The WD Red Plus 3TB hard disk ranks among the high load internal HDDs for the NAS storage solution environment. 3.5" HDDs are designed mainly for data centres and desktop PCs. One of the most important parameters is undoubtedly the rotational speed. The 5400 RPM RPM meets the needs of most typical users. The total capacity of the hard drive is 3000 GB. The device features a 128 MB memory cache. All the data communication between the Western Digital hard drive and the PC or other devices is facilitated through the SATA III interface.

Other HDD Features
Platter HDDs have a special construction. Inside the hard drive there is a mechanism that uses moving platters accompanied by hard disk heads that facilitate reading and writing of data. These mechanical parts don't take shocks and impact well, but on the upside, this design also delivers a great combo of a low price and great storage capacity. The key parameter that affects the speed of a hard drive is the number of platter revolutions per minute, generally known as RPM. Data transmission and overall stability is also affected by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Western Digital hard drive features a 128 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their fast retrieval and reading.
