The WD Red Pro 18TB hard drive is designed to handle high-intensity workloads in multi-user commercial and enterprise NAS environments optimised for RAID arrays. The WD Red Pro hard drive has rotational vibration (RV) sensors that estimate and proactively counteract interference caused by increased vibration. By suppressing the increased vibration in the drive chassis, shocks are minimised, performance is maintained, and the drives are protected. The drives include a multi-axis shock sensor to detect subtle shocks and automatically compensate for them using dynamic fly height technology, further protecting the drives in the NAS chassis.
