The practical WÜSTHOF CLASSIC knife block provides protection for your knife blades. The 12-piece knife set includes a universal vegetable knife suitable for mincing shallots, onions and herbs, as well as cleaning and chopping vegetables; a sausage knife for slicing bread (rolls, baguettes, etc.), hard salami and even the ripest tomatoes; a ham knife ideal for large cuts of meat, fruit and vegetables; a Santoku knife styled on the Japanese chef's knife for preparing not only delicate Asian but also Western cuisine; a perfectly balanced chef's knife for classic slicing, chopping or dicing all kinds of food; and a boning knife suitable for boning chicken or ham and trimming fat and sinew. The straight edge of the vegetable knife offers precise control when dicing, decorating, peeling and chopping food, and the precise, double-serrated edge of the bread knife, for longer-lasting performance and sharpness, ensures a smooth cut without tearing.

Scissors, honing steel and cleaver
The 12-piece WÜSTHOF CLASSIC block also includes a meat fork, which can be used as a carving or serving fork. It provides a good grip on virtually any food and its tines can be used to test whether a dish is ready. The cleaver, with its large 3.5mm thick blade used for chopping through bones, is made from a single solid piece of steel (chromium-molybdenum-vanadium). Its black handles are made from a special synthetic material. The stainless steel kitchen scissors, for cutting fresh herbs, trimming flowers, or cutting paper and string, can be taken apart for easy cleaning. The honing steel has a hard, chrome-plated surface, a medium grit and a hardness of 65 HRC.
