Reliable surveillance in low-light conditions is provided by hybrid night vision, complemented by advanced AI detection capable of recognising motion, sound, and pets. Power is supplied conventionally from the mains, and a stable wireless connection is ensured by a modern dual-band Wi-Fi interface with Wi-Fi 6 support. Dual optics for detailed shots
The device has two separate lenses that cover different viewing angles. A fixed wide-angle lens with a 2.8mm focal length provides a 110° horizontal viewing angle for a complete overview of the room, while the second rotating camera offers a 6mm telephoto lens with a 58° horizontal angle to capture important details. The high-aperture f/1.6 CMOS image sensor captures clear images at a resolution of 2560 × 1440px with a maximum frame rate of 20 FPS. Modern H.265 video encoding and compression efficiently reduces storage demands and ensures smooth stream playback without any loss of quality.
Hybrid night vision of the Xiaomi Smart Camera C500
Continuous surveillance in the dark is ensured by hybrid night vision, which adapts to the current light conditions in the room. The highly sensitive image sensor maintains a colour image even in very low light for longer than conventional sensors. In complete darkness, enhanced infrared night vision with sixteen 940nm IR LEDs is activated. This invisible infrared illuminator does not emit a red glow, so it won't disturb sleeping children or pets and maintains the device's discretion.
Smart detection with artificial intelligence
An integrated processor with 1 TOPS of computing power performs local image analysis directly on the device for immediate situation assessment. The artificial intelligence reliably detects human motion, recognises cats and dogs, and registers sound anomalies, including a baby's cry. In the mobile app, you can also set up a virtual fence to monitor specific zones, and the system will immediately send a notification to your mobile phone if it is crossed. The PTZ camera automatically tracks moving objects detected by the fixed wide-angle lens, significantly increasing the efficiency of the entire system.
Two-way communication with clear sound
The device has a built-in microphone and a large-diameter speaker for full real-time audio transmission. The speaker's independent sound cavity contributes to higher volume and voice clarity during calls. Through the mobile app, you can easily start a two-way conversation with household members or calm a pet remotely. The built-in microphone sensitively picks up surrounding sounds and is also used to detect crying or other unusual acoustic events.
Flexible recording storage options
Users can take advantage of three different methods for securely storing captured video recordings. Local storage is done on a MicroSD memory card, which you insert into the integrated slot that supports capacities of up to 256,000MB. Another alternative is network-attached storage (NAS) for backups within the home network, or secure cloud storage on a private cloud. The MJA1 security chip with a unique key provides hardware encryption for all transmitted data and protects user privacy from unauthorised access.
