Compact and durable lens for Canon SLR cameras
The EF-S lens is Canon's first 24mm "pancake" lens. With its compact and lightweight design, it is ideal for documenting urban architecture or shooting at social events.
Silent autofocus
Its advanced optical design ensures excellent image quality. The high brightness (f / 2.8) allows hand-held shooting even in low light with a solid result.
Focusing with the stepper motor provides seamless, and quiet, autofocus when shooting photos and movies. If you are a more capable photographer, there is a manual focus selector on the side of the lens .

Sharp details, portraits and macro shots with blurred backgrounds
The focal length of 24 mm is not primarily intended for a specific shooting mode. Combined with plenty of light and a minimum f / 5.6 brightness, however, you can capture crisp building detail, very good portraits, or macro shots with blurred backgrounds. For high-quality focus, you'll need to shoot from a minimum distance of 16 cm.
