Wilckens Holzlasur glaze is designed for protective and decorative coatings on interior and exterior wooden surfaces. Its water-based formula protects the wood from UV radiation, water, and weather. Thanks to the thin-layer application, the natural grain of the wood remains visible, and the surface gains a transparent appearance. You can apply the glaze with a brush to fences, pergolas, cladding, furniture, and even windows and doors.

Surface preparation and application conditions

For optimal results, apply the glaze to a clean, dry, stable, and grease-free surface. Sand down old coatings and weathered grey wood beforehand. During application and drying, the temperature must not drop below +8°C. Mix the contents of the can well before use. For outdoor use, it is recommended to apply a protective base coat against blue stain fungi.

Correct application and drying process

You can apply the glaze with a brush. It is ready for immediate use and can be thinned with water if necessary. To achieve a uniform surface, it is important to apply a thin layer in the direction of the wood grain. Apply a maximum of one coat per day. The coating is dust-dry after approximately 2–3 hours, and you can apply another coat after about 6–8 hours. It is fully dry after 24 hours.

Composition and flexible use

The formula, based on a pure acrylate dispersion with UV-absorbing additives and pigments, is environmentally friendly. This is confirmed by the low volatile organic compound (VOC) content, which is a maximum of 40g/L. You can mix the different colour variants of the glaze together. This colourless variant can also be used for mixing and lightening darker shades. Simply clean your tools with soap and water after use.
