It is the summer of 1938, and Josefína just wants to live like any other young girl. However, events are not in her favour. The fight for the country's freedom ends in disillusionment after Munich and only leads to further humiliation. All hope is lost in March 1939. After the protectorate is declared, Josefína's father, an army officer, flees to Poland, while her grandfather becomes actively involved in the resistance. Josefína, her mother, and her sister are forced to leave Prague and hide with supposed relatives on a farm in the Šumava foothills. The family is divided, and the hope of a swift reunion is fast fading. While her father, Vladimír, flees further into the Soviet Union after the outbreak of war, helplessly watching as Hitler conquers Europe, the noose tightens perilously around her grandfather Prokop's resistance group. Josefína, her mother, and her sister learn to live in conditions a world away from their previous life. They all have to make do and find the strength within themselves to overcome all obstacles…
I was born on 27/09/1987 in Ústí nad Labem. I also spent the first years of my life there, and later I would return to my grandparents' house in Ústí nad Labem – Skorotice for weekends and holidays whenever I could. I had a wonderful childhood there. Later, we moved to Chomutov, another fateful town in my life. I went to primary school and later grammar school here, I played football, basketball and volleyball, got to know my friends and my first loves. In short, a time of games and unripe raspberries. I still enjoy returning to Chomutov to this day. After my A-levels, I left my parents' house and a turbulent period began for me, a time of searching for my place in life and for myself. I studied, I lived, I learned, I gained various experiences, both positive and negative. In 2013, I finally settled in Chodov, near Karlovy Vary, and in 2018 I got married. I live, work, and create here to this day. Close to my beloved Ore Mountains, surrounded by friends and my nearest and dearest. What more could one wish for.
