Supports your baby's natural drinking rhythm
The teat's wide shape closely mimics how a baby drinks milk, making it ideal for combination feeding with a bottle and breast. The anti-colic valve prevents air from being swallowed, reducing the risk of a sore tummy and painful colic. Milk is only released from the teat when the baby is actively drinking, so there's no risk of spills or drips. Teat number 3 has a medium flow, no. 4 has a fast flow, and no. 5 has a very fast flow. This lets your baby feed calmly and at their own pace. The pack contains 3 teats.
The Natural Response baby bottle with teat faithfully mimics the way a baby sucks from its mother's breast. Milk does not flow from the bottle on its own; the baby must actively suck just as they do when breastfeeding.
The Natural Response bottles and teats are designed to make it easy for you to combine bottle feeding and breastfeeding. The baby must suck actively to get to the milk. When they stop sucking, the milk stops flowing from the bottle.
The Philips AVENT SCY960/03 teat is equipped with an anti-colic valve that prevents your baby from swallowing air during feeding. This reduces the risk of a bloated tummy and unpleasant colic.
When feeding with milk from a bottle, it is crucial to choose the correct milk flow. Every baby learns to eat at their own pace, and their needs change. Some babies do well with the teat marked number 0, called "First Flow", before moving on to other teats with a higher flow. There are seven flows in total: 0 first flow, 1 very slow flow, 2 slow flow, 3 medium flow, 4 fast flow, 5 very fast flow, and 6 for thick feeds.
Philips Avent Natural Response teats now use updated recommended age labelling. However, when choosing, it is more important to focus on the teat's flow than on the child's age. This is because every baby sucks at a different pace and has different needs. If your baby is happy during feeding, drinking smoothly and effortlessly, you are using the correct flow. If they become fussy while drinking or the milk is flowing out too quickly, we recommend choosing a different flow level that better suits their individual needs.
