The WD Gold 4TB hard disk is one of the high load internal HDDs for NAS systems. 3.5" HDDs are designed chiefly for desktop computers and data centres. One of the most important characteristics is obviously the rotational speed of the HDD. The 7200 RPM RPM provides better speeds when working with multimedia and data. The overall data capacity of the HDD is 4000 GB. The storage has a 256 MB memory cache. All the data communication between the Western Digital hard disk and the PC or other devices is facilitated through the SATA III interface.

Other Hard Drive Features
Standard HDDs are notable for their construction. Inside the hard drive there is a mechanism with moving platters, complete with disk read/write heads. These mechanical parts are admittedly more sensitive to shocks, but on the upside, this design also delivers its amazing price/capacity ratio. The key criterion that determines the speed of a platter hard disk is the number of rotations per minute (RPM). With the WD Gold 4TB, we have 7200 RPM revolutions per minute. It's a great model for more demanding users, for example video editors, graphic artists, people who play PC games, and everybody else who deal with large amounts of data. Data transmission and overall stability is also influenced by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Western Digital hard disk includes a 256 MB cache that keeps the last written data for their prompt retrieval and reading.
Connecting the Western Digital Hard Drive
If you want to install the WD Gold 4TB in your laptop or other device, it must have a 3.5" slot. Data sharing is done via the SATA III interface with a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s. The technology ranks among the most popular HDD data transfer options available and delivers a throughput of 600 MB/s.
