Motion sensor with smart presence detection
The Shelly Presence Gen4 motion sensor uses advanced radar technology to detect the actual presence of people, even without significant movement—for example, when working at a computer, reading, or resting. The sensor can simultaneously track up to 6 people and divide the space into up to 10 customisable detection zones. This allows you to use the Shelly Presence Gen4 motion sensor to automatically turn on lights in a specific part of a room, regulate heating or air conditioning based on occupancy, or turn off appliances after you have actually left the area. Adjustable sensitivity helps to limit unwanted reactions, for instance, to pets, children, or robotic vacuum cleaners, and the integrated light sensor distinguishes between darkness, twilight, and light for more precise lighting control. Thanks to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5 LE, Zigbee, and Matter technologies, you can flexibly integrate the motion sensor into your smart home and use it with the Shelly Smart Control app and compatible third-party platforms. The Shelly Presence Gen4 also supports schedules, webhooks, MQTT, and custom scripting for more advanced automations. You can place the sensor on a shelf or table or mount it on the wall, and its USB-C power supply ensures continuous operation without the need to replace batteries.
Through the Google Home app, you can control smart bulbs, thermostats, cameras, or speakers, all from one place, by touch or by voice. Setup is done by following the on-screen instructions in the app installed on your smartphone. Google Home supports thousands of devices from various manufacturers.
Apple Home is an app that has become a key tool for smart home users in the Apple ecosystem. It allows you to easily manage all your smart devices in one place—from lighting and thermostats to locks and cameras. If you already use Apple devices like an iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple Watch, Apple Home is the ideal way to connect your technology and create a home that adapts to your needs.
Samsung SmartThings is an ecosystem that includes an app to simplify the control and management of smart devices in your home. You can use it to remotely turn appliances on and off, set up automations, or monitor the status of connected devices. The app supports not only Samsung products but also a range of other brands marked with the “Works with SmartThings” logo.
To use the product's smart features, you need to add the device to the manufacturer's app. You can find more information about the app (name, supported OS, supported languages) and how to add the device to the app in the product manual.
With up to 10 customisable detection zones, the Shelly Presence Gen4 sensor allows you to control lighting precisely based on where people are actually located in the room. In an open-plan space, large living room, office, or studio, you can set up an automation that turns on the lights only in the part of the room currently being used, while the rest of the lighting remains off.
With the Shelly Presence Gen4 motion sensor, you can reduce unnecessary energy consumption in rooms that are not currently occupied. As soon as the sensor determines that a space is truly empty, it can turn off lighting, connected appliances, heating, or air conditioning through a set automation. This makes the presence sensor useful not only in the home but also in offices, meeting rooms, and other spaces.
The Shelly Presence Gen4 reliably detects presence even in rooms where people are almost motionless for extended periods. Its advanced radar technology can detect a person even when they are sitting or standing still, ensuring that automations remain active, for example, while working at a computer, reading a book, or resting in the bedroom. This allows lighting, heating, air conditioning, and other automations to react correctly even during your quiet activities.
You can also use the Shelly Presence Sensor Gen4 as an additional security element for your home, office, or any other space. If it detects presence when the area should be empty, the sensor can, for example, trigger a set automation or notification through your connected smart home system. This gives you another way to keep your space under better control, whether you're at home, at work, or away.
The Shelly motion sensor is part of the new Shelly Gen4 generation of devices, which brings more flexible options for smart home connectivity and automation. Thanks to support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, and the Matter standard, you can choose the communication method according to the system you use and more easily integrate the sensor into your existing ecosystem. Multiple communication protocols also expand the possibilities for creating automations and connecting with other compatible devices. This means you can use the motion sensor as a universal element of your smart home without being limited to a single connection methour
